Cloud 9 - Do You Want Me (Dusky Remix)

Sometimes I am uneasy with the idea that the new kids on the block are digging up old records, making slight variations to them, and label it as a remix. For the younger generation, they may not know the original and think that the remix is some mind-blowing track. I guess what I'm trying to say is I hope people do their research!
Back in 1993, Victor Simonelli under the alias of Cloud 9 released "Do You Want Me." The track sampled the 1983 track by Surface called "Falling in Love." Not sure where the vocal sample for the track comes from. Simonelli was prolific in the 90s, producing under other monikers like NY's Finest, Brooklyn's Own, Innervision, and many more.

Dusky are UK duo Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman. Together, they released their Flo Jam EP, and the title track was their definitive track. It sampled Aaliyah's "Rock The Boat" and caught the ears of some big time DJs.

They have remixed the Cloud 9 track, adding a bit of UK bass, but I believe the meat of the track still belongs to Simonelli. The remix is out on Mark Knight's Toolroom Records.
