Dirty South - Speed of Life

Dragan Roganovic has released his first full length album today, and it shot straight to Number 1 on the US dance iTunes chart. First day of release and already at the top. That is a testament to the strength of dance music and its followers in America if I ever heard of one.  I've always been a pretty huge fan of Dirty South http://jackhadagroove.blogspot.ca/2013/01/dirty-south-was-one-of-my-first-dj.html, and want to highlight some of my favorite tracks from Speed of Life.

Probably my favorite cut from the album is Champions. I like how the preview has a pic of a kid superhero in a wheelchair. Its a nice touch! I think I love this track because the dirty basslines are what made me fall in love with this Australian-Serbian producer, and they are out in full force on the record.
The smooth, soft sounds of Sunset (clearly the time of day the track was intended for) are a departure from the synths of EDM we are used to from most of Dirty South's more recent productions.
To see Dirty South take a completely different direction from "house" and make a chillout track is refreshing, and shows that after all these years, he was not afraid to make a track that doesn't conform to expectations but rather follows his own creative direction. Pick up the album because frankly, he's a good guy who has put the time in. After banking in years of productions, collaborations, remixes, DJ gigs, this new outlet is one that deserves the dance community's recognition.
