Zombie Disco Squad was once a duo comprised of Lucas Hunter and Nathaniel Self, but Hunter left the group in late 2011, and Self has been left to take the helm. The latest track is getting a lot of buzz and samples the work of DJ Funk. The Chicago DJ was widely responsible for the "Ghetto House" movement, which eventually laid the groundwork for Juke. And like I've said before, anyone mentioned in Daft Punk's "Teachers" always garners great respect, because they helped shape those masterminds.
The B side to the Twerk EP is called "Ibiza Hooligan."
This whole twerk/ratchet phenomenon seems pretty big these days, making somewhat of a comeback. I've heard tracks from Diplo (Express Yourself), Dirtybird's Worthy (Make That Booty Go) and Kill Frenzy (Booty Clap) that all reference that "body movement."
